I am proud to say that most of my 50 years have been lived, and invested, in Panola District. My wife Debbie, our 17-year-old son Brent, and I live on the same land worked by my parents and grandparents. My great and great-great grandparents also farmed land that is close to our farm.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and I have a Masters Degree in Business from Oklahoma State University. I am currently the principal at Leonard Junior High School, Leonard, Texas, about 30 miles from our home in Kemp.
Debbie is a special education teacher at Durant High School. Brent is a senior at Durant High School and is a member of the Durant Lions football team.
The Panola District is home to me, and I believe I understand the Chickasaw people here, their needs and their aspirations. I am ready, willing and eager to represent you faithfully, with full commitment to your needs on our tribal legislature. My ancestors are: James Colbert, Levi Colbert, Lemuel Colbert, Amanda Colbert Reynolds, Permelia Skinner, Mollie Sears, and W.L. Sears.
Ballots for the Panola District election will be mailed Monday, July 16. The election day is Tuesday, July 31. Please get your ballots in as soon as possible before the July 31 election.
